Robbie Williams With His Rottweiler Missy

Recently I have read that he has found companionship in the shape of a cute rottweiler puppy. These dogs can be misjudged and do have a reputation for being very aggressive and even dangerous.

A certain amount of this is in their nature and I have met some very scary ones in the past but a lot of it is to do with how they are 'brought up'. One of the sweetest dogs I ever treated was an enormous rottie called Alice. She developed a bone tumour and sadly had to be put to sleep.

The only question I would like to ask Robbie is whether or not his new friend has had his tail chopped off. The chances are that he has. If so, the breeder and the vet should be reported to the Royal College. The new animal welfare bill comes into force in April 2007 and will ban the docking of dogs totally except in a small number of working breeds. Docking is totally unnecessary and Rotties have the shortest stumps you'll come across. I look forward to seeing them as nature intended.

A bit of advice for Robbie and other rottie owners: socialisation is the key. Get them young and introduce them to every environment, especially children. They are wilful dogs and you MUST be sure they know who is boss.
