Man Jumps Off Bridge To Save Maltese Dog
Bibi the dog was blown away by his walk, literally. The tiny Maltese-shitzu cross came off second best when gale-force winds ripped across the Melbourne pier in Australia as he was strolling on with owner Sue Drummond
Ms Drummond watched helplessly as Bibi, who tried valiantly to doggy paddle back to Brighton Pier, was blown further into the surging water by winds of more than 100km/h. Lucky for Bibi, Raden Soemawinata stripped down to shirt, pants and socks dived in after the terrified dog
Mr Soemawinata, 20, was on the pier for a family ceremony to scatter his grandmother’s ashes into the Melbourne bay. “It was pretty cold and windy but it wasn’t such a hard decision to jump in, it wasn’t such a great feat,” he said.
